Love Finds Andy Hardy

Another entry in the "Andy Hardy" series extolling the small-town American virtues that movie mogul Louis B. Mayer loved so much, this picture proved to be one of the highest grossing films for MGM in 1938 and also marked Judy Garland's first appearance in the series. In this episode, Andy (Mickey Rooney) angers his girl friend, Polly Benedict (Ann Rutherford), when he agrees to escort his buddy's "dishy" girl, Cynthia Potter (Lana Turner, in her first MGM appearance), for a fee, so that he can pay off the car he just bought. When Betsy Booth (Judy Garland) pops up to visit her aunt and uncle, Andy quickly dismisses her as nothing but a kid--until he hears her sing...
