Love Child

A true story, LOVE CHILD tells of Amy Madigan, who is in prison, convicted of a crime her cousin committed. She befriends a guard, Beau Bridges, and they eventually have a love affair. She becomes pregnant and has a baby, and instead of giving up the baby, she fights to raise him while in prison. Mackenzie Phillips is a fellow prisoner who helps guide Madigan through her ordeal. Madigan gives a solid performance in a complicated role; the supporting cast is adequate.
