Love And Bullets

Scenic Switzerland serves as the backdrop for much of this dull, routine thriller. Bronson is the cop hired by the FBI to rescue Ireland, girl friend of powerful mobster Steiger, with the belief that she may have some incriminating evidence against her old flame. It turns out she doesn't really know anything, but she is killed by the mobster anyhow. Bronson has fallen in love with her, so he sets out on predictable revenge. Steiger and Ireland manage to give believable performances, but Bronson is unable to evoke a sense of hardness. The direction suffers from too little effective pacing and too much concentration on the pretty scenery.
