Look Out Sister

1948, Movie, NR, 64 mins

starstarstarstar
A musical satire on the western with an all-black cast starring Jordan, who dreams he is on a dude ranch. "Two Gun" Jordan wins Harbin's heart and saves the ranch from foreclosure by Hawley. The film is full of 1940s black culture and slang and great music performed by Jordan and his Tymphany Six. The humor is broad, but it's an enjoyable and historic film. Songs include "Caldonia," "Don't Burn the Candle at Both Ends," and nine others. leave a comment
