Newton plays the character he portrayed in Walt Disney's TREASURE ISLAND in this Australian swashbuckler. The pace is quick and the action plentiful as the pirate saves the governor's daughter, loots the king's treasure, and battles his arch-rival on Treasure Island. Newton is perfect for the role and adds a light sense of humor that makes the ruthless pirate appealing. One of two Australian films featuring stage actor Rod Taylor before he went to Hollywood and made it big. leave a comment
