This heavy-handed war melodrama has three British paratroopers caught behind German lines. Hemmings, Bell, and Beckley are the men who wait in a burned-out building for their sergeant's arrival. Hemmings is a pacifist, Bell is the oldest and most experienced, and Beckley is a war-loving sadist.
