Long Ago, Tomorrow

A story of romance between young paraplegics that isn't nearly as drippy as you'd expect. Malcolm McDowell stars as Bruce, an arrogant, self-centered kid who contracts an incurable degenerative disease. Paralyzed from the waist down and confined to a wheelchair, he's transferred to a home for paraplegics, where he becomes bitter and withdrawn. Then he meets Jill (Nanette Newman), a young woman who retains a zest for life despite being crippled by polio. Before he can make his feelings known, she leaves the institution for home, where her parents pressure her to marry her long-time fiance (Michael Lees).
