Lola

1969, Movie, PG, 98 mins

Bronson is a rapidly aging American writer living in London who falls into a romantic involvement with 16-year-old George. Driven out of the country by her parents after they marry, the couple flee to New York City, but they get the same prejudices from his parents. Eventually the age difference rips the relationship apart. Seeing almost no way to make money from this Bronson film, AIP changed the title of the film to a more suitable exploitation moniker, CHILD BRIDE, but then opted for LOLA-- perhaps because of the association with Stanley Kubrick's LOLITA. Luckily, the plan didn't work, and LOLA faded from memory. leave a comment
