An outlandish look at modern society that has Mastroianni living on a Mediterannean island with his dog in a round cement house. Deneuve comes to the island, the pair meet, and she soon becomes Mastroianni's lover. Jealous of the dog, Deneuve kills it and takes its place, wearing its collar and fetching sticks.
