The Littlest Outlaw

Disney Studios employed a neorealist filmmaking approach in this enjoyable little film, casting Spanish nonactors (with the exception of Joseph Calleia) and shooting entirely on location. The story is simple but effective: Pablito (Andres Velasquez), a young boy, grows fond of a horse his nasty stepfather is training through torture. The horse's owner, a general, orders that it be destroyed after it throws his daughter. Pablito steals the animal and runs away, seeking refuge with a padre (Calleia).
