This is a minor, wholly forgettable comedy that does nothing to enhance the reputations of its three leads. Margot Kidder is a burlesque stripper who heads down to Mexico after hearing from her father, Burt Lancaster. Upon arriving she meets Ted Danson, a pessimistic American who agrees to help her find her father. After she and her father reunite, the old man conveniently dies of gangrene, leaving Kidder and Danson free to spend the rest of the film searching for some stolen cash. Lancaster is little more than a walk-on character, and Kidder's role is unchallenging, to say the least. Only Danson comes off with any flair, but the part is all wrong for his talents. The story is all too routine and predictable, with barely a flashing glance of humor. leave a comment
