When German troops commandeer the house of a Belgian aristocrat, one of the officers, Goring, falls in love with Schell, the aristocrat's daughter. Goring, a concert pianist in civilian life, spends time with Schell, teaching her how to play the piano, but because of her family's hatred
for the Germans she must betray her love or die. A familiar war story which is handled with a fair amount of insight. Shura Cherkassky performs the piano solos.
