A gripping, downbeat crime drama set in the Russian Jewish community of Brighton Beach, New York, LITTLE ODESSA is the auspicious directing debut of 25-year-old James Gray. Tim Roth, as a hitman for the Russian mafia, struggles with what remains of his conscience; Edward Furlong (T2) is his brother, a borderline delinquent. The film was shot on location in New York City, and Tom Richmond's outstanding cinematography makes apt use of the blizzards of 1993-94.
