The Little Foxes: Review

It's starting to creak a little, and Bette Davis is no Tallulah Bankhead, but this glossy black-and-white adaptation of Lillian Hellman's potboiler of a play is still marvelously entertaining. Davis stars as the hard-boiled matriarch of a turn-of-the-century Southern family, as shifty a bunch as ever drank bourbon and branch water. The plot is set in motion when two of her brothers (Charles Dingle and Carl Benton Reid) ask Davis for the money they need to build a cotton gin. Read the complete review for The Little Foxes
