Astor plays a widow who wants to insure the futures of her two children by marrying Lockhart. Garland is the daughter who, along with teenage friend Bartholomew, knows Lockhart is all wrong for Astor and manages to get her fixed up with Pidgeon by the film's end. This was Garland's first
