Bridges plays a former American soldier returning once more to London. He wants to find his wartime love, Lister, but instead gets involved in solving a sniper murder. Ignoring the advice of police, he trails a limping man who killed a person with whom Bridges had been speaking. Along the way, he discovers that Lister is involved with gangsters.
