Bow plays an innocent movie theater usherette who falls in love with a patron. She finally meets him and knocks him off his feet. After they marry she discovers her man is really a jewel thief and he is soon imprisoned. She moves in with Lee, one of her girl friends. Lee lives in a futuristic (by 1931 Hollywood standards) apartment that actually is a front for gamblers. Poor Bow is once more caught up in bad situations, but all is righted in the end when her man is sprung from jail. He reclaims his bride and they begin life anew. This is fairly sappy stuff played as light comedy. It doesn't work for several different reasons. The story is too helter-skelter in development and there are too many heavy moments that are played for laughs. The direction is plodding and does little with the hapless material. leave a comment
