An unfunny rendition of Al Capp's delightful comic strip finds Owen running about the town of Dogpatch to elude that most dreaded of institutions, marriage. O'Driscoll is the hillbilly lady who wants him just as much as he doesn't want her. The potential for comedy was enormous considering the source material, but LI'L ABNER never does the comic strip justice.
