One of the first adaptations of Shakespeare in sound film, and shot in England over a period of eight months, AS YOU LIKE IT is a good presentation. Rosalind (Elisabeth Bergner), the daughter of the exiled Duke (Henry Ainley), falls in love with Orlando (Laurence Olivier), the son of one
of her father's courtiers. Orlando is very proper and reserved so, in order to get his attention and gain his favor, she diguises herself as a boy and follows him. Eventually Orlando becomes fond of the boy, and Rosalind becomes jealous of herself. Soon the truth is revealed, she resumes her
proper identity, and the pair marry.
