In 1941 a British army searchlight unit is staffed with a group of zanies, including a girl-chaser, a cook, a nice, if stupid, officer, and other assorted characters. Interspersed with their various cutups are moments of war-time tragedy. Episodic and ultimately plotless, the film is also pointless.
