In this sequel to ON MOONLIGHT BAY, the pretty Day anxiously awaits the arrival of her longtime sweetheart MacRae, who has finished his stint in WW I. When he arrives, their marriage plans are delayed because MacRae insists on getting financially stable first. During this waiting period, a series of humorous misunderstandings builds up an unhealthy jealous state between the pair that, of course, is resolved at the film's conclusion. Entertaining musical comedy that uses Day's pert personality and exquisite voice to charming advantage. MacRae is in fine voice too, and his rugged manner is very appealing. Not pretending to be a classic, the simple film has a crisp, small-town attraction. Songs: "By the Light of the Silvery Moon" (Gus Edwards, Edward Madden), "I'll Forget You" (Ernest R. Ball, Annelu Burns), "Your Eyes Have Told Me So" (Gus Kahn, Egbert Van Alstyne), "Be My Little Baby Bumble Bee" (Stanley Murphy, Henry I. Marshall), "If You Were the Only Girl in the World" (Clifford Grey, Nat D. Ayer), "Ain't We Got Fun!" (Kahn, Richard Whiting), and "King Chanticleer" (Ayer). leave a comment
