Leander pleads guilty to a crime which her spineless lover committed and ends up in the Paramatta Penitentiary in Australia. When her lover realizes that she's been transported, he moves to Australia and makes an unsuccessful attempt to contact her. Instead, he marries the daughter of the governor, while Leander marries respectable settler Staal and thereby gets out of prison.
