L'Etoile Du Nord

A sickly and insubstantial portrayal by Noiret of a classic psychopath. After meeting a young adventuress (Cottencon) in Egypt, Noiret introduces her to a rich Egyptian who makes her his mistress. The jealous Noiret gets on the same Brussels-bound train as the Egyptian. The next evening he shows up at a boarding house owned by Signoret, Cottencon's mother. Noiret is a mess, and his clothes are bloodstained. He learns that the Egyptian was killed on the train; however, he claims that he remembers nothing.
