Denny and Barnett are American gangsters who flee to Paris when rival racketeers threaten to kill them. They are spotted again and decide to join the French Foreign Legion as a means of escape. They don't respond too well to the Legion's rules and regulations, and end up in a series of
slapstick situations, an idea which would be taken further in Laurel and Hardy's FLYING DEUCES (1939).
