Baker hosted a popular radio program, and this film tries to cash in on his popularity. Ryan is a young husband who needs $1,000 to pay his pregnant wife's doctor. He takes his wife and buddy to a popular game show broadcast and becomes a participant. Good-hearted Baker realizes that Ryan needs more than just the $64 in prize money, so he adds some zeroes. Ryan makes his bucks in the "Scenes from Famous Movies" category, which lets the makers of the film slip in 20th Century-Fox movie clips featuring Shirley Temple, Al Jolson, Betty Grable, The Ink Spots, Sonja Henie, and others.
