Leathernecking

A silly musical with Foy as a Marine private pursuing socialite Dunne. He goes to great lengths to win her heart, stealing his captain's uniform and masquerading as an officer. That backfires and he then fakes a shipwreck which ends up in a real shipwreck of Dunne's yacht. And even through all of that Foy gets his girl. Adapted from the 1928 Broadway Musical "Present Arms" (musical numbers directed by Busby Berkeley), the film version is a pale imitation of the original. This was Dunne's screen debut.
