Another rustic Cinderella story, the last of Canova's second and final series at Republic, has the country comedienne as a domestic drudge at the small hotel of her outrageous aunt, de Wit. Eager to enhance her meager existence, the downtrodden damsel enrolls in a correspondence charm course. Swindling associates of the school descend upon her, intending to use her as a dupe in their plot to do de Wit and bank president Deacon out of their fortunes.
