When a guilty coworker plants stolen goods in her locker, innocent store clerk Hussey is accused of the crime and sent to prison, even though Neal, the son of store owner Hinds, knows of her innocence. The embittered Hussey spends her three years in prison studying law, finding unethical ways of making money through legal loopholes without risking conviction.
