Laughing Anne

This lifeless adaptation of Conrad's Between the Tides is set against the backdrop of the South Seas. Lockwood is a Parisian chanteuse who sets sail with her former boxer husband, Tucker. En route, she stows away on Corey's schooner, but when he proposes marriage, she goes running back to Tucker. Years later, the three come together again, with Tucker planning to raid Corey's ship for a load of its silver. The twist ending has both Lockwood and Tucker getting killed, and Corey taking care of the couple's young son.
