Latitude Zero

A volcanic eruption causes an underwater exploration sub filled with Japanese scientists to lose control. Captain Cotten rescues the crew and takes them to an underwater city devoted to the presevation of humankind. Another Japanese scientist, the inventor of an antiradiation serum, is the subject of a kidnaping plot by the wicked Romero, who plans to transplant the scientist's brain. In Cotten's attempt to rescue the kidnap victim, the captain is pitted against an entourage of giant rats, man-bats, and a flying lion that has the brain of Romero's onetime mistress.
