It's Never Too Late

Calvert is a housewife who is the calm eye of the family hurricane. Her husband Barr is a loafer; Smith is her grumbling mother; Stephen, her daughter with a different emotional crisis for every hour of the day; and another daughter is constantly fighting with her husband. When Calvert's sideline of writing gets her noticed by a film producer, she's off to Hollywood to work on a script. However, compared to her family, the wild ways of California are much too sedate, and Calvert must return to the turmoil of her family to get the job done. Some clever moments, but the film suffers from a staginess that makes it a mildly amusing comedy at best.
