Mason is a rookie reporter from the Daily Gazette who is trying to track down bank robber McLaglen. The newspaper offers a reward for his capture, prompting a woman to give some information, but she is killed before Mason gets to her. He finally catches up to McLaglen in Soho and turns him over to the police.
