In his final appearance in the singing cowboy series, Autry stars as an ex-Pony Express rider who is trying to protect his mail franchise in the transition from Pony Express to stagecoach and telegraph. He plans to set up a new stage line, but Wright, the local banker, is scheming to get a stagecoach line for himself. Wright fakes Indian attacks on relay stations and conspires with the town blacksmith. Case is Autry's romantic interest, and Burnette is reunited as his best friend. Predictable ending has good triumphing over evil. Songs include "Song on the Prairie" (sung by Autry) and "Sugar Babe" (duet by Autry and Burnette). leave a comment
