Interesting feature set in a Houston bar about to be torn down to make room for a high-rise office building. The regulars gather for one last blowout, fight among themselves, swear a lot, and talk about their ambitions and failures. One of them (Davis) tries to call his old college
roommate, now a state representative, to save the old watering hole. The incessant cursing and whining of the patrons becomes irritating after a while, and some of the writing is clumsy. The film is effective, though, in its representation of a group of Texan good ol' boys caught in the transition
as their familiar life is lost to real estate development.
