Lakota Woman: Siege At Wounded Knee

Based on the biography Lakota Woman, this made-for-cable film tells the story of Mary Crow Dog and her gradual emergence into political consciousness and activism. The film traces the major events of her life but focuses on her participation in a stand-off between local and federal authorities at Wounded Knee, South Dakota in 1973.

The young Mary (Dawn Lavand) is born on the Rosebud reservation in South Dakota and comes of age in the shadow of the suffering of her ancestors.
