The Lady's From Kentucky

1939, Movie, NR, 67 mins

starstarstarstar
Marty Black (George Raft), a bookie fallen on hard times, has nothing left but part-ownership of a thoroughbred, and though the horse appears to be weakening from too much racing, Marty insists that it be prepared for a run in the Kentucky Derby--against the advice of his partner (Ellen Drew). The horse runs and wins but is ruined as a result. Although unevenly paced, this standard track film offers competent performances. leave a comment
