Not the Coen Brothers's awful 2004 remake, but the solid gold original. The last and arguably best of the comedies produced by the Ealing Studios pits an implacably dotty landlady (Katie Johnson) against a criminal gang — including a brilliant Alec Guinness, Cecil Parker, Herbert Lom, Peter Sellers and Danny Green — who are using her house as a base from which to plan an elaborate robbery.
