Arthur (wife of producer Ross) plays a working-class girl from the big city on a bus tour of the West who runs into Wayne at a rodeo he's performing in. Then she misses her bus and is stranded with Wayne and his sidekick, Winninger. Wayne introduces her to the rougher aspects of the
region, such as gambling and barroom brawls, and also steals her heart. She finally boards the bus for home but finds Wayne waiting at the station to take her back West. Strong performances and a witty script are marred by flat direction. Ardrey, screenwriter for the film, later became known for
his best-selling books on behavorial evolution.
