Lady Liberty

Another Italian comedy import with about as much plot as a bowl of spaghetti. Loren arrives in the U.S. to see her fiance, Proietti, carrying a large Mortadella sausage from her hometown of Bologna as a gift for him. When U.S. customs officials forbid Loren to bring the sausage into the country, she explodes and almost causes an international incident. Devane, a New York reporter, hears about Loren's fight for her rights and decides to exploit the story for his newspaper. Meanwhile, Loren befriends meek-mannered customs official Carroll and together they eat the sausage. When Devane's story breaks, Loren is further enraged, though she is now free to enter the count...
