This costly production is more a vehicle for portraying Belita's ice-skating and dancing abilities than it is for presenting a story. Belita is a quick replacement for the dance team of a California resort run by Ellison. Her career skyrockets into stardom, while Ellison loses his job and drifts around the country until he lands in the Army.
