The sexes are switched in this version of Dumas'
The Man in the Iron Mask, with Medina playing the twin sister roles--one being Anne, the ruling princess, the other her long-lost sister, Louise. Anne is kidnaped and taken to an island, fitted with a grotesque iron mask, and replaced by
Louise. The Three Musketeers, led by the swashbuckling D'Artagnan (enthusiastically played by Hayward), rescue the princess, but decide to take off for America and leave her sister minding the throne. In reality, the iron mask was actually made of fitted cloth.
