Lady Be Good

All that remain from the 1924 stage smash are the wonderful tunes and the title in this second remake of the story (first done as a silent in 1928). The screenwriters took it upon themselves to rewrite the story, coming up with some meaningless drivel to fill up the dead space between songs. But it's the songs that please, especially the Academy Award winning "The Last Time I Saw Paris" (Jerome Kern, Oscar Hammerstein II, sung by Ann Sothern), which spawned controversy because it wasn't written for the movie.
