In a wastepaper basket, British cleaning lady Mount discovers scraps of paper which contain stock market tips. With the help of Morley, Mount and her fellow charladies make a killing in the market. When they overhear a plot by financier Corbett to raze the street on which Mount lives, they organize a small but effective revolt, and their houses are saved from the wrecking ball.
