Harding and Loy play women with affections for the same man, book publisher Morgan, Harding as his wife and Loy as the novelist-mistress. They are brought together by Montgomery without either knowing the other's identity; in this way, when she discovers her companion's true identity, Loy
will understand that she has hooked up with a dishonorable man. Though the situation has built-in humor, it takes Brady to make the laughs--she plays the cynical hostess. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Interior Decoration.
