Young is in charge of a couple of dozen WAFS (Women's Auxiliary Ferrying Squad) and wants to make sure that they get all the recognition they deserve. We see them serving the Army in top form, but also on the brink of disaster. Fitzgerald, as Young's hotshot sister, nearly wipes out the
WAFS when she carelessly cracks up a plane. A piece of feminist propaganda during WW II that may have made women enlist but sure didn't entertain them. Future producer and director Blake Edwards appears in a bit role as a pilot in one of his earliest movie appearances.
