A domestic comedy about a boy who is raised by three generations of single women living in a Paris apartment building--his mother, Brigitte Fossey; her mother, Stephanie Audran; and his great-grandmother. Naturally, he is pulled in numerous directions, and as a result life among the Palazzi
family turns topsy-turvy. Meanwhile the boy has become enamored of his schoolteacher, while Fossey has become the object of a man's desires, causing Audran to become uneasy. Though the film turns somber by the finale, it is generally upbeat, providing a great deal more entertainment than insight.
