Guardia Civil stops him at the border and tries to determine his real identity, but a call to his Paris phone
number turns up Nadine (Bujold), a student in the revolutionary movement who corroborates his papers. Diego returns to Paris to learn that his pals have been captured in Madrid and that his local contact, Juan (Remi), went back to Spain at the same time he was returning to France. Diego wants to
