L5: First City In Space

A 35-minute IMAX 3-D spectacular, L5 is filled with computer-generated outer-space vistas. In the near future, people have begun living in controlled environments in space. Chieko (Rachel Walker) -- the first child born in the floating city L5 -- looks back as an adult and narrates (voice of Martha Henry) first a brief history of space exploration -- the kind that regularly puts high school students to sleep -- then a sappy and terribly rushed little drama. The city's reserves of water are dangerously low, so Chieko's scientist granddad (Colin Fox) cooks up a plan to lasso a comet.
