It seems that the best British farces come from mocking that land's rather stuffy customs. This picture takes that course and provides pleasing comedy by not taking itself seriously. Buchanan is a soldier who finds himself the inheritor of his ancestral home. His ideas of nobility are quite different from those of his snobbish relatives, and a clash erupts when Buchanan prefers the company of the locals to that of his aged aunts.
