Imagine a lesbian-experimentation episode of Friends with slightly franker sex talk, and you'll be right on this ingratiating trifle's wavelength. A high-strung, New York City copy editor (Jennifer Westfeldt) is beginning to wonder whether she'll ever meet Mr. Right when she answers a personal ad that includes one of her favorite quotations. The ad was placed by a sexually adventurous, downtown art-gallery curator (Heather Juergensen) who's looking for a new sensation and just happens to be a woman. Jennifer Westfeldt Expects to Deliver Big Laughs

Notes from the Underbelly star Jennifer Westfeldt may not be a household name, or even a household face, but she stirred up a bunch of indie buzz playing the title role in Kissing Jessica Stein, a film she cowrote. Now she’s tackling the small screen in this adorable new comedy (based on the chick-lit novel by Risa Green) that landed the plum debut spot post-Grey’s Anatomy (although next week it moves to Wednesdays at 8:30 pm/ET). FILM FACES FLOCK TO FALL

In the latest round of fall-season pilot casting, Bruce McGill (Cinderella Man) has been tapped to play a Chicago crime boss in the ABC drama Enemies... Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings) will play a federal prosecutor who infiltrates an underworld organization in Fox's Faceless... Jennifer Westfeldt (Kissing Jessica Stein) has joined ABC's Notes from the Underbelly... and Julie Hagerty (Airplane!) is the title character's mom in Fox's Becoming Glen.
